A Closer Look at Mac The Racehorse

Let’s take a closer look at Mac the racehorse. Mac was born April 10th, 2018 in Lexington Kentucky. Mac is a replica of his sire Spieghtster, who unfortunately just passed away on February 6th of this year ( article below). Speightster’s accolades include an undefeated three-year-old year. and classification as a Graded Stakes winner.

Mac’s Grandfather, Speightstown has career earnings topping 1.2 million and in 2021 his yearlings sold for $900,00, $575,000, $500,00, $425,000 and $400,000 Speightstown stands at the famed Winstar Farm In Lexington, Kentucky, and is a Top 10 general sire of 2021.

Mac’s Mother, Jilly Mac has a pedigree sporting names like Mineshaft, AP Indy and Mr. Prospector. Mineshaft Jilly Mac’s father is well known for winning the Eclipse Award 2003 Horse of the Year and topping 2 million in career earnings.

No matter his lineage Mac was not a chip off the old block with career earnings over 3K. Possibly the most notable moment in his race career happened in his yearling year at the Fasig-Tipton sale where he was sold for 35K. (See a video of Mac on the track below)

Mac is so fortunate that his connections decided he was ready for a chance at a new career. This is where our story begins.
